sandra-bullock-best-actress-pic-getty-340830745.jpgA historic night for both Sandra Bullock and female filmmakers at the 82nd Academy Awards Sunday night. Kathryn Bigelow won Best Director for the powerful Hurt Locker, while Bullock won both a Razzie and an Oscar on the same day, although not for the same film. Bullock, as gracious and down-to-earth as ever, actually turned up to receive her Razzie for the terrible 2009 comedy All About Steve.

My Melodious Match with the Actor Who Doesn’t Just “Play” a Musician on TV

This was how my interview with Sebastian Pigott, actor-cum-rocker-cum-writer, most acclaimed thus far, for his role as Kai Booker on CBC’s Being Erica, ACTUALLY began. In spite of my best efforts to propel towards the questionnaire that I had spent days researching and devising, I couldn’t help it – what can I say? - I’m a sucker for a good music debate. Luckily for me however, it would seem that Sebastian’s interest was equally peaked by this proposition, as it didn’t take long for him to merit a rebuttal, after I made the following cynical assertion:

I prefer the term ‘shades’ to ‘sunglasses’, calling men ‘gents’ or ‘fellas’, vocalizing that ‘I shall’ rather than ‘I will’ partake in a given activity, and receiving flattery that consists of being described as ‘fetching’, ‘delectable’, ‘well-mannered’, and ‘poised’, instead of having my looks equated with a certain temperature reading one experiences in the summer.

This is by no means extensive as to have watched all of the films on the nominee list would mean forking out more money than this lowly student can afford, but it should prove somewhat useful when placing your bets at your Academy Award party.
